Software Sales Engineer 

GRM, a national information management company, located in Jersey City, NJ is currently recruiting for an experienced Software Sales Engineer in their Indianapolis, ID location. 

Position Summary

This position will provide sales engineering support for VisualVault, and will have the primary responsibility of assisting with driving and delivering budgeted VisualVault bookings goals. The Sales Engineer will focus on new, business-to-business account development for our ECM solutions in order to maximize the sales of VisualVault to new and existing customers and prospects.

The Sales Engineer must have a thorough understanding of the VisualVault solution and must be able to articulate this information during customer calls, demonstrations, and documentation (RFP Responses, Security Assessments, etc.). The Sales Engineer will be able to build custom VisualVault solutions including capture software, custom libraries, electronic forms, workflows, dashboards, and portals to demonstrate functionality and ECM concepts.

The Sales Engineer must be self-motivated with a proven track record in ECM sales support and a knowledge of technology. He/she must be comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base, must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFPs, and when submitting reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with customers on both technical and non-technical levels to ensure superior service as well as interact directly with key support and product personnel to resolve issues.
  • Work directly with VisualVault and Capture applications to demonstrate GRM solutions.
  • Provide hands-on as well as virtual assistance designing and communicating technical solutions.
  • Work directly with sales team in developing proposals.
  • Create portals, workflow and electronic forms in support of customer requirements.
  •  Responsible for development and delivery of product demonstrations.
  •  Responsible for representing the product to customers and at field events such as conferences, seminars, etc.
  •  Able to assist in responding to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.
  •  Able to convey customer requirements to Product Management teams.
  • Identifies current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers. Provides product and service technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Gains customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operations improvements.
  • Develops customer's staff by providing technical information and training.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.

Requirements

  • Organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches.
  • Can effectively interface at many levels with senior managers. 
  • Strong background and knowledge of strategic account management, sales process and solution selling. 
  • Experience in sales support of ECM solutions, BPM, document capture, and records management preferred.
  • Must have the ability to translate customer needs into solution requirements.
  • Excellent written, oral and presentations skills.
  • Ability to function and influence others in a matrix management environment.
  • Ability to make decisions and think in broad terms, considering the impact on the entire company.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience serving in the capacity of a Sales Engineer or equivalent experience in a customer-facing role to include working as a member of a professional services or systems engineering team.
  • Conversant with enterprise content & document management solutions and associated architectures.
  • Programming proficiency is a plus with emphasis on ability to create specialized product demonstrations. Knowledge of SQL and experience developing queries and data extraction scripts for relational databases is beneficial.
